Mom’s Chicken Tenders

Homemade chicken tender with salad and smashed potatoes

The word that comes to mind when I think about these chicken tenders is nostalgia! Ever since I can remember, my mom would make me these chicken tenders! To say that they are one of my favorite foods is an understatement! I continue to make them now for Bunkey and I, and can’t wait to make them for our future children one day as well! The best part? Not only are they so yummy, but also very simple to make!

Ingredients:

  • Chicken tenderloins

  • Italian dressing

  • Croutons (whichever you have in the pantry. We like the butter and garlic ones!)

  • Shredded Parmesan Cheese- about ¼ cup give or take

  • Garlic Powder- A good pinch (depends on how much garlic you like)

How to make them:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees

  • Marinate chicken tenderloins in Italian dressing for up to 24 hours (this step is very important! Gives the chicken so much extra flavor)

  • In a ziplock bag, add croutons, parmesan cheese and garlic powder.

  • Crush croutons until you have a breadcrumb like consistency

  • Drop Chicken into ziplock and toss around until the chicken is evenly coated.

  • Place chicken on baking sheet

  • If you have extra crouton mixture, you can pile it on top of the chicken

  • Bake for about 25 minutes +/- until chicken is golden brown

Pair it with your favorite sides and you’ve got a delicious meal the whole family will love!
