Best Brussel Sprouts

If you think you don’t like Brussel Sprouts, let me try and change your mind! I am what most would call a picky eater. I didn’t eat salads or hardly any vegetables until I was in my 20’s! I survived on Chicken fingers and French fries. So naturally, I assumed I did NOT like Brussel Sprouts. That all changed the day I tried them like this! Now I’ll eat them pretty much any way you give them to me and if a restaurant has them on the menu, you can bet that’s what I’m ordering! Make these, trust me, they are absolutely delicious!!

Ingredients:

  • Fresh Brussel Sprouts

  • Cooked, chopped, bacon (You could also use “real bacon Pieces” from the bag to save time

  • 1 tbs. of olive oil

  • 1 tbs. of butter

  • Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes

  • As much minced garlic as your heart desires

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

  • Small Splash of Apple Cider Vinegar (You could also use the juice of half a lemon)

  • 2 tbs. (or more if you like) of honey - you could also use Maple syrup

  • A big drizzle of Balsamic Glaze

How to make them:

  • Start by cutting off the little stem and slicing your Brussels in half. If they are larger, sometimes I will quarter them

  • To your pan, add your oil and butter and toss in your Brussels. Let them cook for a few mins over med-low heat until partially soft.

  • Next add in your garlic, red pepper flakes, Salt & Pepper and splash of ACV

  • Let Brussels cook a few minutes longer and toss in your crumbled, cooked bacon.

  • When Brussels are almost done add your honey.

  • When you are ready to take them off the stove and serve, top with balsamic glaze

One of my favorite side dishes and it takes less than 20 minutes, start to finish! Enjoy!
