Life Update

Where do I start? This is not my normal fashion post, but I'm not sure what the normal is for my blog anymore! Since I have been MIA from most of social media and my blog for that matter, I thought I would share with you what has been happening in life lately.

To say that this year has been a bumpy ride, is an understatement. It's funny to think about all of the plans YOU think you have for your life and the new year, and what GOD'S plans are. In January, I just knew that this was the year I would be able to put my all into my blog and youtube channel and see it grow and watch my dreams come true! I had all of these plans for it, I made lists of ideas, I had a calendar with planned posts and videos I wanted to record. For a while, it was looking good! Growth, lots of posts, and squeezing in videos when I could!

In March Brian's grammy got sick and ended up passing away. She was such a firecracker and angel all in one body! In the middle of all of that, we decided it was a sellers market for real estate and we could potentially make a good amount of money off of our house, so we listed it. Most of you already know what happened next, but long story short, we had a family "buy" our house. They were the first and only people to look at it. They gave us full asking price, it sold in less than 48 hours. Thankfully we had already started looking for other houses and decided to build again, which had already been started. However our new house wasn't going to be finished until August. So we packed up our house, put it in storage and moved in with my in-laws. Two days before closing, we got a phone call that the family buying our house didn't fill out the proper paper work for their loan and closing would be pushed off a couple extra days. No big deal! Two weeks went by, and they ended up never being able to get approved. So now we have an empty house, that we are still paying a mortgage for, while living in a bedroom of my in-laws house. So we Re-list the house.

Now, while all of that is happening, my grandfather is getting more and more sick. He goes into hospice and ends up going to Heaven 2 weeks ago. He missed my grandmother so much and couldn't wait to get to heaven and see her. My grandparents lived on about 20 acres of land in Kings Mountain, with a horse and lots of up-keep. Instead of their house sitting empty, my family offered for Brian and I to live there while our house is being built. Such a blessing! So we packed up our things, again, and moved them to the farm.

This brings me to today. Life on the farm is incredibly humbling. I walk outside every morning and feed the horse, I walk down to the lake and read a book. I can hear every little one of Gods creatures in the woods, scurrying about their day. There is no city noise, no cars, and guess what else there is NONE of? Wi-fi!! Zero, like it is non-existent. How in the world do I have a blog and record videos without any wi-fi?! As I write this, I'm sitting at the only little coffee shop in "down-town" which consist of one street with one restaurant, an antique shop, and this little coffee shop.

Next week, I fly to Vegas for work and the week after that, Brian and I will be at the beach. Our house has still not sold and if it doesn't sell in the next couple of weeks, we are afraid we may not get our new house that is half way built. At this point it is all in Gods hands. I can not think about it or stress about it, because clearly none of my plans really matter. I'm not writing this to say I quit blogging because that is the furthest thing from the truth. I love my blog, it has been my favorite hobby and one that I refuse to give up. It may just look a little different for the next couple of months. If you made it to the end of this, bless you. I'm sorry its so long, but I had a lot to catch you up on!

Bloggers Who Brunch

 Dress:Shein c/o, Boots: Aldo,
Lips: MUFE Liquid lip 203

I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was pretty laid back. Thats what happens when you become an adult! Brian and I did some furniture "browsing" on Sunday and then went to see Beauty and The Beast! Seriously the most exciting weekend I've had in a while! If you have not already seen B&TB, you HAVE to! I wanted to sing and cry and laugh and dance! Such a great re-make!

So I wanted to share my Style Collective Bloggers Brunch with you! I had so much fun meeting other bloggers/girl bosses that live locally to me! They were so sweet and so smart! I loved getting to sit at a table with women who are like-minded, driven, and have the same questions and struggles that I do! We had the most most amazing brunch at Iliios Noche, and if you have never been there, the food is AMAZING and their staff were incredible! Not to mention the coolest bar and patio area! I can't wait to go back when it warms up even more!

I wore this adorable dress that Shein sent me! I love how affordable their clothes are and on top of that, they are always having a sale! The print on this dress is what really caught my eye! Its so beautiful and I love the keyhole detail near the neckline! I can't wait to pair this dress with my gladiator sandals and a top knot, for date nights in the summer time!

Z Supply Dress

Dress: Z Supply, Necklace: Julia Marie,
Bracelet: Loren Hope, Shaw: Old Navy

This has got to be the best February we have ever had! Spring can come early every year if you ask me and these 70 degrees days can stay forever! I can't remember the last time we were wearing dresses and sandals in the middle of February, but none the less, I am loving it!! You will see this dress on major repeat over the next several months! I love the lace up detail and pockets. It makes this dress effortlessly stylish and you could wear it so many ways! How cute would this look with a blue jean jacket and white converses?! This dress comes in so many different colors also and I linked them above! I got my dress from Jolie Boutique if you're local!

Brian and I are about to put our house on the market so we have been looking at other houses and floor plans to build! I know selling a house and moving can be so stressful but picking out a new house is so much fun!! I love seeing how people decorate their homes and how just like clothing, everyone has their own style! If you know of any good houses for sale in this area, let us know!!

Valentines Date Night

Dress: Old Navy, Sandals: Target,
Earrings: Kendra Scott

With Valentines Day only a few days away, I wanted to share with you a v-day date night look! I would live in this dress if it was possible! If fits in all the right places and is a dream to wear! So comfortable and can be worn with heels or espadrilles. Depending on your date night and if your going to get wings and beers or filet and champagne, this dress is perfect! I linked it below the picture and FYI, it's on major sale right now for $13!!! And I have to tell you, these shoes, might be my favorite Target find of my life! I know, thats saying A LOT, but I love these nude sandals and I wear them all of the time!

Denim on Denim

T-shirt: Old Navy, Denim Button down: Old Navy,
Jeans: Target, Heels: Target, Bag: Tory Burch,
Sunglasses: Nordstrom, Earrings: Kendra Scott

Happy Friday! I hope you have had a great week! Sorry I have been a little MIA from the blog. Every opportunity I have had to shoot pictures, it has either rained or the wind was so bad that I couldn't even get one good picture! You can always keep up with me on Instagram! I try to post there every day!

Brian and I leave for the beach next week and we are so excited, its all I think about! Even though it won't be much warmer than it is here right now, the thought of siting on the beach, wrapped up in a blanket, with a good book, starring at the ocean, gives me all the feels! Plus we are celebrating Brian's birthday and Valentines day!

Now about this outfit! When I was getting dressed earlier this week, I originally had just this blush pink tee on with these jeans. It was too warm for a coat but I needed something more than a vest. I picked up my chambray top and left it unbuttoned and I LOVED it! So effortlessly casual/put together, if this makes sense! And I was a little worried about denim on denim but its actually adorable! This is now my go-to outfit for running errands or having lunch with girlfriends! Hope you have a great weekend!!

IT Cosmetics CC Cream- Product Review

As promised, I am going to do a product review every Wednesday of a beauty related item! For my very first review, I had to do the IT Cosmetics cc cream! I have been so blown away with this foundation and had to share it with you so that you can walk run to get it!!

Facts about this foundation:
  • Full coverage
  • SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad spectrum physical sunscreen
  • Radiant finish
  • Vitamins A,B,C, and E
  • Peptides, hayloronic acid, and antioxidant protection
So this means you are getting amazing skincare benefits in a full coverage foundation! The vitamin C is brightening your skin, so if your concern is dark spots or acne marks, this will help fade them over time! The antioxidant protection works as a shield to protect your skin from all of the pollutants in the environment that make us age!

You can see from my picture with no makeup on, that I have a lot of redness in my skin. The right side is with one layer of this foundation. It completely covered the redness, evened out my skin tone, and left my skin dewy and hydrated! I'll be honest, as much as I love skincare and take care of my skin, I've never been big on sunscreen. I always thought it would either break me out or leave a white cast on my skin. With this being SPF 50 I was really concerned about that! So I was pleasantly surprised when it did neither! And can you imagine the benefit of wearing this in the summer and protecting your skin from the sun?! Amazing! This has quickly become my favorite foundation and the product I have been searching for, for years! I know I'm a little late to this bandwagon but I'm hoping on full force!!

Black and White Fringe

Sweater: Altar'd State, Pants: Old Navy,
Bag: Tory Burch, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban,
Heels: Target

I hope y'all had an awesome weekend! Thank you so much for all of your kind words and encouragement about my new website!! You all mean the world to me! Brian and I had a relaxing, low-key weekend and it was amazing! Sunday after church we went to Target and I finally got a Keurig! Y'all, I don't know how it has taken me this long to get one, but I'm obsessed!! I think we are going to save like $700 a year now from me not going to Starbucks every day!

I got this gorgeous cardigan on sale at Altar'd State! I know, big shocker. I just could not resist this gorgeous fringe and detailing. I'm pretty sure this sweater has already been worn about 4 times and I've had it less than two weeks! It looks great with jeans and loafers or dressed up with heels! And if you couldn't tell, I finally got those nasty ole roots touched up, and it just feels so good to have fresh highlights! I swear getting your hair done is life changing! It just makes you feel better! Hope you have a great week and don't forget to check out my Best of Beauty 2016 for a full review of my most coveted makeup products of this past year!!

Polka Dots and Bell Sleeves

Top: Altar'd State, Bag: Tory Burch,
Flats: Sole Society, Earrings: Kendra Scott

Happy 2017! New year, new look, right? At least for my blog! It got a little upgrade and a new web page address! Whenever you search for it from now on, you can just go to!! I have been waiting to post new content until all of the upgrades on my page were finished! I so badly wanted a website that I was proud of and wanted y'all to visit! And I am soooooooo in love with the way it turned out! Simple, modern, and girly!

I have so many fun posts planned for this year and I want to know what all you want to see! More beauty, achieving goals, blogging tips, how to style certain pieces, y'all let me know! I am thinking of doing a product review every Wednesday on new beauty products and/or anything else y'all want me to review! That way you know that every Wednesday you can count on a new beauty post! Let me know what you think!

Now, on to this ADORABLE top! If you have been around these parts for a while, you know my favorite store is Altar'd State! And when they have their Semi-Annual sale(which happens to be right now) you can NOT beat the prices! Everything is already marked down and then its an additional 60% off that!! Holy Cow! When I saw these polka dots, I fell in love. Then I saw the bell sleeves and it was a done deal!! I love the lace detail and just how warm and cozy this top is! I had my eye on these flats for the longest time and for Christmas Brian surprised me and got them for me! I love the color and how it just gives such a fun pop to any outfit!!

Okay now go shop this semi annual sale before its over! I promise you will thank me!!
