Fingers Crossed

Hello Friday!! I am so happy that I do not have to work this weekend and Brian and I are staying in FL, so no road trips, no anything, except Bunkey time!!

So onto my good news! I really think God has this amazing sense of humor and looks down and chuckles at his work sometimes! I have been wanting to right a post all week about me wanting to go to cosmetology school. It has been what I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember. In fact, I have paid the application fee of $100, three times now, gone through the financial aid part, and taken the tour of the schools, but for some reason it has never worked out. I have looked at Paul Mitchell, Aveda, and even our community college in North Carolina.

For everyone that does not know, Cosmetology school is VERY expensive. We are talking thousands of dollars. You could buy a nice car. I should have went to cosmo school right out of high school, but me being the smart teenager I was, I HAD to go to college like all of my friends. I would be making bank right now has I just done it! After about 1.5 year's of college, I decided that it wasn't for me and I would try cosmo school again. Okay, I will not bore you with all the details of all the times I applied but basically money has always been a huge factor in me not going.

With that said, it makes me mad. I feel like other people go to school all the time and major in things that they want to do without worrying about how much it cost. Other girls get through cosmo school that are probably in way worse off situations than I am, so why cant I do it?

So when we moved to Florida I researched the Paul Mitchell and Aveda schools down here. They actually were about $6000 less than in NC!!! My biggest thing is debt. I do not want to put me or my husband in debt, but I also know that I cant do what I want to do for the rest of my life without putting us in debt. So Brian and I talked about it and of course he wants me to be happy and cares about my future and thinks that it would be well invested debt!

I called Paul Mitchell earlier this week and have been waiting for them to get in touch with me. Finally today I got a call from Christie in their admissions office and I have an appointment for tomorrow!!! We are going to take a tour, go over the money and student loans, start dates, all of that! As long as its affordable and works out with my current job, I will hopefully be starting very soon!! So everyone say a little prayer for me and keep your fingers crossed that everything will fall into place!!

On a side note: Last night my company had their annual awards banquet, so my little nugget heads that I love so dearly, and I, got all dressed up and went down town to the old Florida theatre! Here are a few pics!

Have to throw a selfie in there

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!
