Face Time...but not for an iPhone

Hello ladies! I hope everyone is having a fantastic day because it has been like the twilight zone, Friday the 13th, some kind of crazy in our office today! But that’s beside the point.

So I would consider myself pretty girlie. I like fancy things, having my nails painted, sipping champagne, etc. I mean don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy a nascar race and spending the day on the lake, but over all I would say I take care of myself. I take time to fix my hair and do my make-up, pick out an outfit and match my shoes, but I do not clean my face everyday!! I know!!!!!!!!!!! I hate that I am this way.

I think it all started when I was in middle school. My mom bought me the Mary Kay face care line for younger girls and it broke my face out, BAD! I am not slamming MK at all, in fact I love all of their other products, my face just didn’t like their face wash. So I stuck with the drug store $5 face wash. In high school I tried again. I bought the entire cleansing line of Clinique’s face care products in hopes that it would work. No such luck. It gave me craters under my skin that literally looked like boulders and made my face feel like it was on fire.

I am lucky because I have never had bad skin. Very little acne, normal to oily skin and I have always just used clean and clear or something like that. I don’t know if I am allergic to something in those 2 different products or what, but I really need to find something that works. I feel like I am getting to an age where skin care really matters! So if anyone out there in the blog land has suggestions of what works best for them, please let me know! I would love to hear your ideas!

A Wedding, A New Apartment, and a Long Drive

Whew! Bunkey's are one tired couple. All these road trips to NC are wearing us out! But this one was so worth it. We got to see all of Brian's family for a beautiful wedding and Daisy Mae got to play with her cousin dogs! I love getting together with all of the O'Donohue's because you know its going to be a fun time!

If you read my post from last week, then you know that we have decided to stay in Jacksonville for a while longer. And since we are staying, we are also getting a new apartment!!! It is B-E-A-U-tiful! I am so dead over it! We don't move in until June, but I will be posting more pictures of it once we get settled and decorate, but for now I have only a few.

Bunk looks so excited to make that 8 hour drive haha
If this is not the most adorable picture of Uncle Brian and Baby Nolan, I don't know what is!
After the Wedding...I need to have better posture.

Only Pics I have of our new place but Im so excited!!

Home is Where the Heart Is

So today’s post is a little more personal then I usually write but that’s just how its gonna be today.

As most everyone knows Brian and I moved to Jacksonville FL a little over a year ago. We moved for his job and it was an, all of a sudden kind of move. Only 2 months after we got married and had just settled and unpacked in our new apartment, he got the news that he was accepted for this job. We drove down to FL (6 hours drive), found an apartment in one day and drove back home. The fact that I didn’t kill Brian that day is a miracle.

Anywho, it just so happened that the Apartment complex where we decided to live was hiring for a new leasing consultant. While we were doing the application process, the manager asked me what I was going to be doing for a job. I told her that I had no idea but was looking to find one. And guess what? She basically hired me right then. It was such a blessing! It didn’t hurt that she was from NC too and loved the tar heels as much as I did. But I remember making that drive back after we left and thinking about how amazing God is. He knew what I needed and he provided.

Fast forward to today. Jacksonville has been a struggle for me. Everyone knows that I don’t like it. Probably since the day we moved here, I have been planning on moving back. I didn’t even unpack our boxes or hang pictures on the walls for a long time, because I did not want to stay. Brian promised me after a year we could move back home. He had to get these different licenses for his job and stay for one year. That was his obligation. Later on he found out that it was one year from the day he passed him last test. That brings us to today. We have now done our time and put in the grueling year ½ that we were obligated to.

Probably since January we have been seriously looking at jobs back home, places to live, planning our escape plan. All the while, I have been in constant prayer about this. I pray that if it is God’s will for us to move back, then to please open the doors necessary and if it’s not, to close those doors. Brian has had a couple of places to do phone interviews with him, but it has never worked out. The more I pray about it, the more I feel like God closes those doors tighter. The past couple of times I have been home, it just hasn’t felt the same. Everything and everyone is different, or maybe it's just that I am in a different place in my life right now.

So that brings me to this. I have accepted the fact that we are not moving home any time soon. I have decided that we are here for a reason and that I have only hated Jacksonville because it wasn’t home. I have not given it a chance or even tried to enjoy it. I have the beach and the most amazing shopping. I'm less than 2 hours from Disney World and Savannah GA. There are palm trees everywhere I look and we found an awesome church that we love going to. So with much thought and prayer, the O’Donohues are here to stay in the sunny state for a while. It may not be home, I may not have my family, and I might hate when someone says, “Oh your from up there?” No I’m from the South, the real South. Your state might be further down from mine but that does not make you southern. But all in all, I think this is just one chapter in our lives and a journey that isn’t quite ready to be over. I miss so many things about NC but if I don’t start opening my heart to Jacksonville, I just might miss out on some of the best times of my life?

If you have made it to the end of this and not fallen asleep, then you are my hero. I could make this so much longer, but I will stop boring you now!

Home is where the heart is, and life is what you make it, so make it worth it.

Miracle in a bottle

Hello Baby Angels! So today is short and sweet, but I have to tell y'all about my favorite after sun lotion right now! So I am not someone who easily burns. In fact I can count on one hand how many times I have burned in my life. But ever since I moved to Florida, I burn literally every time I lay out. I think the sun is different here or something!

So a couple of years ago, I discovered Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Moisturizer. This lotion has aloe vera and shea butters which not only soothes but it makes your skin feel AMAZING!!

We have had the best weather this week, so on my day off I went to the beach. I was only there less than 2 hours and my shoulders and chest got fried! I put this lotion on before bed that night and the next morning, I had no pain, the redness had already started to turn brown and my skin was silky smooth, still! I'm telling you, this stuff works miracles! I use it all summer even when I am not sun burned just because it has the best smell and honestly makes your skin look and feel awesome! I highly recommend you get this lotion!!

Probably the most boring weekend Ever

This was my awesome lame weekend. But next weekend will make up for it because, Go shawty, It's my birfday!

I think its so sweet, when he takes her out!
This is my awkward selfie before dinner.

Happy Monday, and yes it's happy because today is really my Saturday! And I only have to work 3 days this week! However I worked all weekend so I really didn't do anything fun.
Saturday Brian and I went out to dinner when I got off and had some really good drinks! Mine was called a "Hurricane Bumby" and leveled at a category 5 and boy was it!
Ok so we all know how smokin hot Adam Scott is, but am I the only one who thinks he looks so much like Luke Bryan?! Dang! So much hotness!!
And last, to add to my oh so cool weekend, I got the new people style mag and this really awesome lamp at Target!

A Beach Day, A Shopping Trip, & $250 later...

I would say happy hump day, but today is my Monday. I have had the BEST 2 days off! I guess living in Florida does have its perks! Monday was absolutely B-E-A-U-tiful! 85, not a cloud in the sky and palm trees blowing. Yes I went to the beach! It was so relaxing to spend some ME time and Jesus time. Sometimes when I'm sitting out there, I just stare out and think about being on one of those cruise ships that are sailing away. Yes, I'm a daydreamer. Soooooooo, not to make anyone jealous, but this was my view:

And when I got home this beautiful package was waiting for me!! I finally got my $250 gift card from the Hanes Pin ture Perfect Challenge!

So of course this called for some MAJOR shopping all day Tuesday!

Here is a peak at just a couple of the things I got! And yes, I'm that person that spent it all in one day! Shame on me.....

So I had all these plans that I was going to do something great with this gift card, yea that didn't last too long. Just some good old fashion retail therapy! I'm tellin ya, it works! And can we just talk about my new wedges!! To-Die-For! Oh and the Pink "dress" on the right. Well you can't really tell in this picture, but it's actually neon pink and it was only $10 @ Old Navy. I'm going to use it as a cover up to go to the beach and pool this summer because it's the perfect material! It's like a Light weight cotton!
So there you have it. This is what I have been up to!

Not so TGIF and Birdman

Today's post is short and sweet. It's not really my Friday considering I have to work Saturday and Sunday. Just thinking about it puts me in a bad mood. And let me tell you how wild my Friday night is going to be. Brian and I will be going to Walmart and Publix for some grocery shopping since we haven't been in 3 weeks. Yes I know that is terrible, but we have been traveling so much, that there hasn't been any time. After all of the excitement from that, we are going to come home and put on our fake tattoos we got last night at Zaxbys. How cool are we? Probably watch a movie, make a pallet on the floor, and have some much needed, and deserved, vino! Yep that sums up what I'm doing tonight! I know your jealous! And can I just mention that we are having a torrential down pour outside and I might fall asleep typing this from the boredom I feel right now...ughhhhhhh

But I'm linking up with Whitney to do #backthatazzup Friday! It's the only bit of happiness I have right now!

This was seriously my Jam back in the day! And I can rap Diddy's part better than he can.....test me

Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever

This is my first Link up so I hope I'm doing it right!

Never Have I ever:
1. gotten a tattoo
I'm such a wuss! And my Momma and Daddy might kill me!

2. Eat any seafood what so ever
I don't know if it's the smell or texture or both but it creeps me out!

3. Eat an Onion (YUCK!)
When I was younger, I would lie and tell reaturants that I was allergic so I would make sure they didn't put any onions, anywhere near my food! I haven't ate McD's in like 15 years due to them putting 1 single onion on my cheeseburger and I threw up in my happy meal...bad day.

4. broke a bone
Unless fracturing my pinky counts?

5. waxed my eyebrows
I over plucked them one day and they won't grow back now.....No need for waxing these days!

6. Done drugs
Like I said in #1, I'm as wuss!

7. had another animal besides a Dog
I'm allergic to cats

8. Felt so In love as I do now
I know, I know....I just can't help it! I have the best husband in the world!

9. liked baseball or golf
I don't mind playing them or going to see them played, but I can't watch it on t.v.

10. Met someone famous
But if I could meet anyone it would be Eric Church or Luke Bryan....Hello ladies!!

I feel really boring now...But I'm Not!!

Perks of my Birthday Month

I always welcome April with open arms!! Not only is the weather changing and warming up, but it's also my birthday month! Although I will admit, I can't ever remember how old I am anymore! I never knew there were so many perks to my bday month until the past 3 days! April 1st, I received an email from ULTA telling me that all month long I get double reward points for anything that I purchase and there was a 20% off coupon attached. I was like HOT DOG! How sweet of them!?! Then on the 2nd, I got another email from Chick-fil-A for a free cookie celebrating my birthday month! And yesterday when I checked my mail, DSW sent me a $5 off, any pair of shoes, coupon!! These people know the way to my heart! Make-up, food and shoes! I am not complaining and if anyone else wants to throw something my way, please don't hesitate! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTH TO ME!!!

Warm Weather means Bright Colors

Hello beautiful people! I feel like I have been so busy lately going from Florida to North Carolina and I am here to tell you that I am SOOOOOO over that drive! It's exhausting! But we did have a great Easter with our family and friends! I miss being home so much, but I will say that today in FL, it is 85 degrees and sunny. There are people laying out by the pool and all the ice cream shops are booming!

Speaking of warmer weather, that's what my post is about today! All this sunshine really makes my whole life brighter! For some reason I can't stop buying bright pinks, turquoise, yellows, Corals and neon greens. No matter if it's shoes, clothes, eye shadows, lipsticks, nail polish, whatever! I literally just want to look like a ball of sunshine when I get ready every morning!

My favorite shoes right now!
From the Left: Aldo, BCBG, Target, H&M, Old Navy
Awesome Lipsticks for Summer:
Left- Avon "Poppy Love" Coral/Orange
Right- Maybelline "Eternal Rose" Bright Pink

Just a little peak at my closet. Please excuse what a clutter it is!
